Storage gets the X-Factor with Acunu big data voting software


Computer Weekly carries a story today about how Live Talkback is using Acunu’s data platform to record a flood of votes from its X-Factor voting application. Tom Wilkie of Acunu says that their technology, Castle, is built today’s scale and usage profiles, like this one, unlike past storage technologies: “The assumptions used to define storage subsystem were routed in the 1980s and are not designed for today’s SATA disk, multi-core architectures and large amount of RAM.”
