Simtel Technologies / Applied Generics announce Strategic Partnership

16 February 2005

Simtel Technologies (Stand K6, Hall 4), a world-leading provider of innovative and effective solutions for real-time Quality of Service monitoring of 2G, 2.5G and 3G networks and Applied Generics, today announced a strategic partnership and the integration of the Simtel Netledge™ mobile network monitoring and analysis platform with Applied Generics NERO24™ bulk location engine.

Simtel’s Netledge™ system gives GSM mobile operators the ability to generate an average of 22 per cent additional revenues on their existing GSM networks. Based on statistics generated by its real-time Quality of Service (QoS) network monitoring tools, Simtel enables increased traffic and improved call handover, while reducing the number of dropped calls and sustaining longer call times, all achieved with no additional investment in network infrastructure.

Operators enjoy additional savings as their existing networks work harder. Less investment in additional sites, and therefore less maintenance, means reduced capital and operational expenditure.

By integrating the NERO24 bulk location engine, supplied by Applied Generics, the accuracy of QoS measurement can be significantly enhanced. Moreover, with its performance management tool, data coming from real traffic can be combined with network measurements to produce a complete overview of network behaviour and, therefore, support planning and management activities for 2G, 2.5G and 3G networks.

Ali Pourtaheri, CEO of SIMTEL commented “We are delighted that SIMTEL and Applied Generics have combined to provide a solution which has been unavailable in the market to date. Operators will benefit measurably, in terms of quality of service and an increase in revenues from the introduction of this integrated application suite.”

Dr. Joe Dixon, MD of Applied Generics commented “The collaboration with SIMTEL is a landmark in the evolution of network measurement and optimisation tools. This will be the first time that networks have been able to identify problems to a granular level and have the ability to rapidly implement a solution, saving time, safe guarding and improving revenues.”
