Enigmatec joins Opsware Technology Alliance Partner Program
Customers to Benefit from Comprehensive Data Center Automation Solution
29 November 2006
Enigmatec Corporation, a leader in policy based automation for on-demand virtual and physical IT environments, today announced that it has joined Opsware's Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. Through the partnership, Enigmatec and Opsware will provide access to a broad range of Data Center Automation capabilities, enabling customers to more rapidly achieve operational effeciencies and reduce labor costs across their IT infrastructures.
"We are excited to join Opsware's select technology partner program to deliver new levels of Data Center Automation to our joint customers.", said Indra Mohan, CEO, Enigmatec. "The Enigmatec/Opsware joint solution combines Enigmatec's industry-leading service-level management platform with Opsware's proven server provisioning capabilities to enable true on-demand IT environments that are dynamically scalable, adaptive, and responsive to business dynamics. With our combined rechnologies at work, customers will benefit from an improved balance of IT costs and business objectives."
With the cost and complexity of today's IT infrastructure spiraling out of control, enterprises are turning to IT automation to increase productivity, ensure policy compliance, remediate security threats, and redue labor expenses. The Opsware Technology Alliance Partner program supports the increasing demand for this technology by providing an effective way to address customer needs for server, network and application automation. As the fastest growing data center automation vendor, Opsware will provide Enigmatec the opportunity to integrate with its award-winning IT Automation software and leverage its global sales and marketing activities to generate customer leads and drive revenue.
Enigmatec's Execution Management System (EMS) is integrated with opsware's Server Automation System through Opsware's Web Services API. EMS adds run-time policy-based management to Opsware's leading server provisioning capabilities. EMS continually monitors all levels of a multi-tier application stack for changes in availability or demand. When EMS detects a failure or load spike, the system orchestrates the reallocation of resources to the appropriate users and applications, leveraging Server Automation System to ensure that all resources are maintained at required release, patch and configuration levels. EMS also provides full lifecycle management of shared virtual resources including decommissioning, archiving and returning resources back to a server pool.
The combined EMS-Server Automation System solution enables "utility" computing, by allowing automated provisioning of resources on demand, with little or no operator intervention, and with embedded service level monitoring. Modular, domain-specific "Automation Packs" are also available, including Developer Automation, for highly-distributed self-service virtual development and test labs, and Production Automation, for automated business continuity.
"By combining Opsware's IT Automation software with Enigmatec's EMS, customers will benefit from a broader spectrum of critical IT Automation capabilities," said John O'Farrell, executive vice president of business development at Opsware Inc. "The joint technologies will provide customers with a comprehensive data center management solution, which has become a necessity for today's enterprises as they focus on cutting costs, increasing operation efficiencies, and generating immediate ROI."
