Pentech appoints new Investment Director

Pentech Ventures, the early stage technology division of Penta Capital, has strengthened its investment team with the appointment of Dr Sandy McKinnon as investment director. His responsibilities will include commercial and technical diligence, working with companies post-investment, and with developing relationships with leading academic institutions.

Sandy brings a wealth of experience in both technology and commercialisation to the role. After a successful career as an academic at Dundee and Cambridge universities, he developed and then ran the Advanced Technology Group at Scientific Generics, before becoming director of knowledge transfer and technology at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. During his time in this position, he helped incubate 12 spin-out technology companies.
