Enigmatec

Enigmatec was founded in 2001 by Duncan Johnston-Watt and Michael Paull, with the senior team further expanded in early 2002 when Steve Ross-Talbot and Gary Brown joined. Their main product is called the Reactive Intelligent Framework (RIF), and enables process virtualization.

The company’s revolutionary Reactive Intelligence™ Framework (RIF) comprises of infrastructure software and associated tools to enable developers to decompose, decouple, and distribute applications across diverse enterprise-wide IT environments. In addition, the RIF can provide continuous and automatic optimisation, and fully supports the major requirements of autonomic computing. The Company also play a prominent role within the relevant organisations who are working on standards in this area.

RIF can be incrementally adopted and can co-exist with other executing legacy applications and by allowing next-generation “process virtualisation”, enterprises may optimally leverage their existing computing assets, delivering the following benefits:

Reduced cost of implementation and delivery

Highly compressed development lifecycle

Delivers greater flexibility and agility

Allows business users to safely modify processes

Significantly lowers the cost of ongoing maintenance

The company is well positioned to be a critical component of the next generation intelligent computing fabric and has already been received positively by potential customers. RIF is applicable to a wide range of IT problems across multiple industry sectors.

Pentech Ventures invested in Enigmatec in March 2003 to support the RIF product build-out and initial sales of the product into various blue-chip financial services organisations.
