Velocix
Velocix is the world's leading Digital Asset Delivery Network, a new generation Content Delivery Network (CDN) designed to meet the rich media needs of the 21st century Internet.
The company started as CacheLogic, in January 2002 and as thought leaders in the whole management of P2P internet traffic and it sold millions of dollars worth of appliances world-wide to help ISP's manage this pervasive traffic.
Through its work with Digital Rights Holders and Broadcasters on their strategies for the distribution of legitimate video content using P2P technologies, CacheLogic established VelociX, its peer assisted media delivery platform. This platform enables content owners to harness the benefits of P2P technology whilst offering the benefits of a CDN.
Given the scale of the opportunity, the company is now solely focussed on is Digital Asset Delivery service and changed its name to Velocix in January of 2008.
Pentech Ventures led the Series A investment into CacheLogic in July 2003 and has participated in all funding to date. Sandy McKinnon is on the Cachelogic board on Pentech's behalf.
